Every Jamis youth bike uses size-specific items like grips, saddles and cranks that enhance comfort and control by providing the best possible bike fit. We focus on designing frames with low stand-overs to take much of the awkwardness out of getting on board and dismounting after. We trim as much weight as we can with lightweight aluminum frames on many of the youth models and use aluminum parts where possible (the limiting factor here is working within a youth-bike-appropriate price point) to work towards that make-it-as-light-as-possible goal.

TOP FIVE THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW Our lightweight & durable aluminum Laser frame is easier to pedal than steel. The 20” Laser actually offers two types of brakes: a standard rear coaster brake, which most youngsters are familiar with, and a rear V-brake which many are not. Having the rear coaster brake as a back-up, allows youngsters to get used to hand-braking without going cold-turkey on the coaster brake they are comfortable with. Our alloy rims are anodized black to provide even greater corrosion and rust resistance than the alloy already possesses. Before wheels are laced and trued, the rim sidewalls are ground to provide a smooth braking surface for the rear V-brake. We build the Laser 2.0 wheels with 36 spokes in a 3-cross lacing pattern for a strong & durable wheel. The Gap XL is just that, an extra-large 21" toptube version of the tried-and-true Kink Gap. Components found on the Gap XL take things up a notch and are not to be missed. Kink Whip XL One of our most popular models, the Whip, is also available in an XL 21" toptube size. This beast is constructed using full 100% 4130 chromoly throughout the entire frame fork and handlebar set. Complimenting this strong, durable structure are sealed bearings everywhere; headset, bottom bracket, and both front and rear hubs. Both wheels are laced up with Mission Mylar rims, giving this bike double wall rims front and rear. Topping off all the great functionality, the Whip XL comes in a Matte Sedona Red colorway. Despite its popularity, the Kink Drifter is our only 26" bike. Kink BMX is a BMX brand, through and through, and the Drifter is truly an extension of that.
